12:15 Port Or Starboard
One or two inconsistent types line up here but that can’t really be levelled at PORT OR STARBOARD who goes well for jockey Robert Williams. Port or Starboard had a fairly recent run on the Flat so shouldn’t be short fitness-wise and he’s on a competitive mark, just 2lb higher than when dead-heating for first at Exeter back in the spring.
Attention All has a chance if the last run when pulled-up at Ayr in February can be overlooked as he’s still very lightly raced, while El Jefe doesn’t hold many secrets but has won here off a higher mark on soft ground in the past.
12:50 Im Too Tired
Seemingly a fine chance for IM TOO TIRED to get off the mark over hurdles at the third time of asking. He went close when beaten half a length in a maiden here in October and while not quite so promising when a well-held third at Musselburgh last time, that was a much stronger race than this one.
The newcomer Cantalupo Bella is one to keep an eye on in the betting, though the penalised Lahire may prove to be the chief threat to the selection.
13:25 The King of May
Quite an open-looking event but THE KING OF MAY clearly likes it here and the cheekpieces going back on may be a sign that he’s fully fit and ready to strike another blow at Sedgefield. He’s down to a career-low official chase mark now and lines up on the back of two creditable runs over hurdles earlier this season.
Fazayte is feared if transferring his form from hurdles back to this sphere (2-4 over fences), and Neigh Botha represents an in-form yard who could yet get the best out of the lightly-raced six-year-old.
14:00 Breeze Of Wind
BREEZE OF WIND holds obvious claims after improving on what he’d shown over hurdles when third on his chasing debut in a handicap event at Carlisle late last month. This former point-to-point recruit runs off the same mark here and is open to plenty of further progress, especially now upped in distance from the minimum trip.
Striking Out has gone up 4lb for his Ludlow second (well backed) last time but can’t be ruled out with confidence, while Blazing Hartingo has time on his side and is the type to do better now his attentions are turned to jumping fences.
14:35 Electric Jet
This could be a canny piece of placement from trainer Charlie Longsdon, who sends four-year-old ELECTRIC JET up north for the maiden hurdle on his debut under NH Rules. The son of Jet Away showed ability in a couple of point-to-point starts and seems likely to enjoy this stiff two and a half-mile test.
Toscan Genius is turned out again just a week after his encouraging course second in a novice event over the same trip, while Let’s Go Joe is another to monitor carefully on his first run for Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero.

15:10 Ballylinch
BALLYLINCH won a similar 0-105 handicap chase over this course and distance last month and there’s every reason to expect another bold show from the lightly-raced six-year-old given he’s only gone up 2lb in the weights.
It was also his first run over fences in public so he can confirm superiority over the runner-up Fiston Du Mou. Frankie Faulkner also looks likely to be on the premises when it matters most.
15:40 Horn Cape
HORN CAPE showed a willing attitude to land a conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle over a slightly shorter trip here earlier in the month and he goes unpenalised for that win here. He’s got to prove his stamina for two and a half miles but is fancied to follow up, at the main expense of Special Rate and the well-treated Bonne Vitesse.
