This might go to UNCLE ARTHUR, who probably didn’t have the race run to suit his very patient tactics at Chepstow last month but travelled strongly for a long way there. Lady Gwen is likely to be on the premises again and is second choice. Sassified is better than he showed on his latest outing and is next on the list, while Platinumcard is a more speculative option to consider.
13:15 Zonda
The free-going Matterhorn should again prove to be a big player. It would be no surprise to see him win again but the suggestion is ZONDA. Admittedly, the selection’s jumping will need to be much better than on his Chepstow introduction but if that has been rectified then he could come good. Titan Discovery and the newcomer Tiny Tetley are not ruled out.
13:50 Diesel Line
It’s possible that the experience of Panjari, who shook off an modest hurdles debut last time, could prove the key here. However, there is an element of vulnerability about him and the suggestion is DIESEL LINE, who was straight enough to win on debut in a bumper and showed a level of form that suggests he could prove too good for this field. Breaking Cover is also shortlisted.
14:25 Surtitle
An interesting contest. Keep Running remains of interest on his chasing debut but top weight might just prove too much. With a recent positive chasing introduction under his belt and the potential for improvement, SURTITLE is preferred. That also brings Issar D’Airy into it, while The Plimsoll Line and Dr T J Eckleburg are both respected in a race where it isn’t easy to confidently rule anything out.
15:00 Sun Roy
10.5f Flat winner in France last spring; 0-5 over hurdles but SUN JOY finished a close second on fast and soft ground in his last two runs (2m2f/2m1f); changed hands for 75,000euros in July and he’s respected on his British/stable debut.

15:33 Getthepot
Dual chase winner who seems ideally suited by good or quicker ground; GETTHEPOT struggled over hurdles in first two runs for this yard but was a rallying second back over fences at Exeter (2m3f, good to firm) last month; this step back up in trip is a positive and he has possibilities if the rain stays away; due to be 2lb higher in future.
16:05 Jaminska (NAP)
Obsessedwithyou came fourth in a good fillies’ handicap at Cheltenham in April but she was allowed to lead at a fairly steady tempo that day and may be slightly flattered by that form. Her tendency to race freely is a nagging concern as she moves up in trip here and preference is for handicap debutante JAMINSKA (NAP), who was 5l too good for Obsessedwithyou at Hereford in January. Parikarma and Isabella Bee also make the shortlist.
