16:15 – No Aw There
Toplight (second choice), Gustav Graves and Canaria Prince are high on the list. NO AW THERE stands out in this field in still having some potential, though, and her handicap debut at Musselburgh was a bit better than the bare result. With her stable going along well she’s worth chancing in such a modest race. Second Collection put up bold shows here on her last two starts, the latest yesterday evening.
16:50 – Arthur Rose
Despite being absent since winning at Ripon in April Dreadpirateroberts has to make the shortlist, as do Fidelius (second choice) and Reprised who finished runner-up in their latest starts. However, it may be worth taking a chance with the newcomer ARTHUR ROSE who is bred to go a bit and comes from a stable which often gets them ready first time. Market confidence would be especially encouraging.
17:25 – Debora’s Dream
Another chance is given to DEBORA’S DREAM who has gone close in three of his five starts, with his latest Lingfield effort perhaps his best yet. Galloping On was doing just that in the closing stages of his debut and earns second preference ahead of King Street, for whom there are some stamina doubts. The newcomers need to be checked out in the market.
18:00 – Delicacy
Falling For You is in much calmer waters than when last on her Newmarket nursery debut and is respected given that her dam won around here, but preference is for DELICACY, whose fourth at Chelmsford last time was even better than it looked and the form has since been boosted. Berry Clever, who caught the eye when seventh in the same race, could go well while South Kensington and Xaarine are others to consider.
18:30 – Thapa VC (NAP)
Eight of the 12 runners are C&D winners and a few of these have taken each other on recently. Visibility, Touchwood, Surprise Picture and Novak are but four who hold good credentials, but THAPA VC (nap) makes the most appeal. Mark Rimell’s gelding loves it here (C&D record 111412) and is just 1lb higher than when taking this contest last year.

19:00 – Tiger Beetle
Barley is one for the shortlist if stepping forward from his latest improved effort at Newcastle, while the hat-trick seeking Master Of Combat is another worthy of respect given his good record around here. However, the vote goes to TIGER BEETLE whose 9lb rise for his impressive recent C&D success still leaves him 2lb below his previous winning mark.
19:30 – Arcadian Nights
Avon Light and Romilda have shown much more in their sole AW starts compared to what they have achieved on turf, so are worth a second look, while there may be more to come from Another Beautiful now switched to a handicap. Light Up Our Stars is respected in his hat-trick bid even though there is a slight query over the trip, but the vote goes to ARCADIAN NIGHTS. A dual C&D winner this year, he didn’t enjoy much luck in a better race on his latest visit and is capable of winning this if enjoying a smoother passage.
20:00 – Hellavapace
Not many of the runners are coming here in any sort of form and this looks a race to tread carefully with. Revoquable can boast a recent win, while Kenstone (second choice) and Brave Display ran well over 7f here on their latest starts, but perhaps HELLAVAPACE can come out on top. She ran respectably at Chelmsford on Friday and she seems well suited by this C&D. Often apprentice/amateur ridden, Rob Hornby takes over in the saddle this evening.
20:30 – Cornish Storm
Stacks of overlapping form. On improved terms, Bear Claws (second choice) could exact his revenge on last week’s conqueror Virtual Hug, while Global Tycoon, Pysanka, and Ghostly all have claims. The suggestion is the lightly raced Kempton scorer CORNISH STORM, who should continue to progress over middle distances. It looks a positive that Rossa Ryan retains the ride.
