Josies Kid and Street Parade are high on the shortlist but this looks good for STAY SMART. Although he failed to land good support on his recent stable debut, he wasn’t ridden as aggressively as can be the case and he got lit up when a bit short of room in the early stages. He kept on well for third in a race that represents solid form and he can get back in the winners’ enclosure this afternoon.
Topweight ARAIFJAN (NAP) looks to have plenty in his favour. Well treated judged on a number of runs from last winter, including when winning over same curse and distance (C&D), he showed clear signs of a return to form last time. Mehmo can chase him home, with Gatwick Kitten and Wiley Post also considered.
With the belated reappearance under his belt, HEADINGLEY could well take advantage of a handy mark and enhance his good C&D record. Locked N’ Loaded, who ties in with the selection on latest running and also may be sharper for that back-from-a-break outing, is second choice ahead of Ravenglass who posted an encouraging effort last week.
The one heading in the right direction is CRYPTOS DREAM, who has done well since joining Jack Jones.
Both her recent wins were gained over 1m2f on turf at Brighton but today’s trip-and-surface combination should also suit. Meng Tian was placed over C&D a fortnight ago but a bigger threat to the selection may come from Hellavapace, who can be excused her laboured effort last time and is quite well handicapped now.
This looks trappy but preference is for BROAD APPEAL, who has been knocking on the door on turf in his last two runs and should make another bold bid back on all weather (AW).
Sunset In Paris was only just caught over C&D on his penultimate run and he’s feared most, although Crazy Maisie has also had a near-miss on Polytrack this autumn and she’s respected on her drop back in trip. Others who could be dangerous include Typical Man and Star For A Day.
A competitive race in which the vote goes to four-time AW winner PERIPETEIA, who scored over 1m6f at Wolverhampton on her penultimate run before a good third from off the pace at Newcastle 11 days ago.
She remains well treated on her best form and is a big player on this step back up in trip. Big Jimbo is feared most ahead of Shadowfax, who has run well here in his last two starts. Manyana has possibilities back from a short break, while another to consider is Prince Abu, who showed signs of a revival over C&D last week.

It was a much improved effort from MAGNUM OPUS at Salisbury and he’s better drawn than Duke’s Command and Dubawi Time who are feared in that order.
