13:15 Wetherby – Cruz Control
I like CRUZ CONTROL a lot. I was impressed with his return at Ffos Las last month and he jumped well. He travelled well and he wasn’t fully fit there, he had a good blow afterwards, so he can come on for that and win this. He should be the favourite.
13:30 Ascot – Scarface
Passing Well is very well treated off a mark of 122 but two or three of these could be anything. There could also be plenty of rain coming to Ascot and it could become testing. I’m siding with SCARFACE for Joe Tizzard as he’s on a very workable mark.
13:50 Wetherby – Luccia
LUCCIA has a really good record when fresh but she has little margin for error when jumping hurdles. She will get a lead to follow in You Wear It Well and she can make her move late on. I wouldn’t go big on Luccia but the make up of the race should suit Nicky Henderson’s runner. She can come from last to first over the final two hurdles as she has a high cruising speed.

14:05 Ascot – Funambule Sivola & The Last Day (each-way)
My first thought was FUNAMBULE SIVOLA for Venetia Williams, who has run in plenty of Grade 1 and 2’s. He’s a great each-way play as he has to be respected off a mark of 156. Bottom of the betting THE LAST DAY also seems overpriced. He could be a player. He won the Red Rum last year and he can pick them off one by one. He should be in the places.
14:25 Wetherby – Thyme Hill
This is a tricky race and not really a betting race! I make this between THYME HILL and Dashel Drasher. If I had to pick a winner, it’d be Thyme Hill for Philip Hobbs and Johnson White as I’m not sure on Dashel Drasher over the three mile distance.
15:00 Wetherby – Bravemansgame
Gentlemansgame could make the running, make the most of his fitness after his second at Gowran last time out and test BRAVEMANSGAME who is coming in fresh. The track is perfect for him and he’s the class horse in the race so I’ll side with Paul Nicholls’ runner, however, Gentlemansgame could make him work for it.

15:15 Ascot – Bad (each-way)
Our Champ looks to be found in the market and BAD could be the value pick. He’s got a lovely racing weight of 122 and the testing ground could be perfect for him. He’s a solid each-way value shout.
15:45 Ascot – Larry
Beauport was a solid hurdler but I’m not sure the heavy ground will suit him or Monbeg Genius. LARRY could be the each-way play as he’s 5lbs clear of Two For Gold compared to their April run. He loves Ascot and the make up of the race will suit him perfectly.
