This is a really competitive race and although Big Evs is decent, I’m against him with his draw in stall four. CRIMSON ADVOCATE is on the inside of Big Evs and she’s who I’m with.
She has brilliant gate speed and she won the Queen Mary Stakes at Ascot ahead of Relief Rally in June. We’ve seen she can beat UK and Ireland horses so she’s worth keeping on side.
Santa Anita – 21.40 – Chatalas (each-way)
Tamara looks like a machine but I can’t be getting stuck in at her price. CHATALAS for Mark Glatt looks the value selection. She finished behind Tamara at Del Mar in September but she followed that up with a course and distance win last month. She might not win but she’s a value each-way pick. You could also play Chatalas in the Betting Without Tamara market.
Santa Anita – 22.20 – Hard To Justify (each-way)
I was originally looking at Porta Fortuna but I’m concerned about the step up in trip. I’m not confident Carlas Way can get in front early on, which is her style, so I’ve landed on HARD TO JUSTIFY in stall 12. She was really gutsy last time out and she has good battle qualities.
She can be held up or go from the front so she’s an each-way shout.

Santa Anita – 23.00 – Prince Of Monaco (NAP)
PRINCE OF MONACO is the value pick and is my strongest fancy of the day. He’s already beaten Muth, who is somehow ahead of him in the market. He showed an unbelievable turn of foot in the Best Pal Stakes at Del Mar in August. He’s been put away for this race after a slightly underwhelming win last time out in September.
He can show how good he is on Friday night.
Santa Anita – 23.40 – River Tiber
RIVER TIBER has this race written all over him. He’s been mainly run over 6f and he looked outpaced last time out at Newmarket. He’s moving up to a mile and the track isn’t stiff at all. It should really suit him. Ryan Moore has had huge success in America too.
