16:58 Gannon Glory

Calin’s Lad and Swiss Pride (second choice) are both respected at this level but GANNON GLORY might not face much competition for the early lead and he can record his second claiming-race success for his new yard.

17:30 All Agleam

The shortlist is headed by the interesting handicap newcomers ALL AGLEAM and City House in that order of preference. The selection is bred to progress a good deal beyond her opening mark, while the second choice comes here on the back of a strong-finishing effort. Whiteley Way, who is heading in the right direction, is third choice ahead of Zoumoon.

18:00 Summer Of Love

Saeed Bin Suroor won this in 2018, 2019 and both divisions in 2021 and SUMMER OF LOVE (he also runs newcomer Desert Horizon) will take plenty of beating if turning up in the same form as when striding clear over C&D last week. She still looked green in the early stages so could step up again. Al Farabi is a fascinating alternative given he joins Roger Varian from Andre Fabre after running well on his sole French start in April.

18:30 Chalk Mountain (NAP)

Urban Decay still has some potential and this is considerably weaker than the 6f handicap she contested at Newmarket four weeks ago. 7f could suit her better too and she’s respected, with No News and Catwalk Model also having something to recommend them. CHALK MOUNTAIN (nap) won with ease at Wolverhampton last time though and he can make light of his 6lb rise.

19:00 Last Hoorah

Island Of Skye looks set to go well again despite moving up a level but LAST HOORAH is the suggestion. He’s a reliable, straightforward sort who did much the best of those in the firing line turning in over C&D a fortnight ago. Brassavola warrants a market check starting out in Britain for an in-form yard.

19:30 Jeff Koons

A fascinating puzzle with Revich able to race off 8lb lower than when recording a joint-best RPR in winning at Ayr last month. His AW mark may underestimate what he’s capable of on an artificial surface but JEFF KOONS is preferred. He was forced into making his move earlier than ideal by the winner when again losing out narrowly at Ascot last time. Third choice is Al Agaila.

20:00 Fox Journey

Upped further in distance, there could well be even more to come from FOX JOURNEY who stayed on for third in the Melrose last time. Royal Scandal, who is comparatively fresh and looks interesting over the new trip, is second choice. Temporize was doing well for his new yard before the Cesarewitch flop. The pace is likely to come from the two Johnston runners, Cool Party and Dreams Adozen.

20:30 Wadacre Gomez

Top of the list is Charlie Johnston’s 3yo WADACRE GOMEZ, who went very close in his bid for a Polytrack double here last month and is open to more progress. Recent Newcastle winner Percy Willis and the reliable Waterloo Sunset are feared most ahead of Kyle Of Lochalsh, who didn’t get any sort of run at Lingfield last time and still has potential. Noble Masquerade has claims if this sets up for his closing style, while another interesting contender is the handicap newcomer Story Horse.
