There is a midweek treat at Punchestown as a trio of leading chasers make their seasonal reappearance in the Grade 3 Irish Daily Star Chase.
Dual Grade 1 winner Conflated was a mighty third in last season’s epic Cheltenham Gold Cup, Minella Indo famously landed the Blue Riband in 2021, while Delta Work has won the last two editions of the Cross Country Chase to add to his numerous top-level victories over fences.
They are the principal players in Wednesday’s 16:10 and the line up is completed by Gordon Elliott’s third string Hurricane Georgie and Panda Boy for Martin Brassil.
The latest Irish Daily Star Chase odds are on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise Timeform’s guide to the runners as well as betting tips from the racing boffins can be found below.
Irish Daily Star Chase verdict
Timeform: CONFLATED has to concede weight all round but a repetition of the form of his Gold Cup third will see him prove hard to beat. Minella Indo scored on his return last term and is narrowly preferred to Delta Work for the forecast spot.

Irish Daily Star Chase runners and riders
The following horses have been declared for the Irish Daily Star Chase 2023.
Conflated
Trainer: Gordon Elliott Jockey: J. W. Kennedy Age: 9 Weight: 11st 12lbs
Notched his second Grade 1 success over fences when landing the Savills at Leopardstown last Christmas and performed to an even higher standard when third in the Gold Cup next time. Ran flat at Aintree on final start of campaign but holds strong claims on return here.
*****
Minella Indo
Trainer: Henry de Bromhead Jockey: Rachael Blackmore Age: 10 Weight: 11st 6lbs
Notched his first success since taking 2021 Gold Cup when narrowly landing Tramore Grade 3 on his reappearance in January. Ran no sort of race at Cheltenham subsequently but would be no surprise to see return to form here.
****
Delta Work
Trainer: Gordon Elliott Jockey: Jordan Colin Gainford Age: 10 Weight: 11st 3lbs
Smart performer who won the Cross Country Chase for the second year running at Cheltenham before unseating on second circuit in Grand National. Can go well fresh and must enter calculations.
***
Fighter Allen
Trainer: W. P. Mullins Jockey: Non Runner Age: 8 Weight: 11st 3lbs
Non Runner
Panda Boy
Trainer: Martin Brassil Jockey: J. J. Slevin Age: 7 Weight: 11st 0lbs
Course winner who ended last campaign with creditable fifth of 27 in Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse. Faces a stiff task first time up here, however.
**
Hurricane Georgie
Trainer: Gordon Elliott Jockey: J. S. McGarvey Age: 6 Weight: 10st 7lbs
Below form in recent starts, including when well-beaten fourth of 6 in PWC Champion Chase (8/1) at Gowran (20f, heavy) 11 days ago. Has plenty on her plate again here.
