However, the vote goes to FRANCESI who has shown creditable form in better races than this on the AW and whose latest narrow defeat at Kempton suggested he may be about to strike. The favourably handicapped Venetian and dual C&D winner Noodle Mission are others to keep an eye on.
Southwold (second choice), He’s A Gentleman and Midsummer Music are on the shortlist, but PATERNOSTERSQUARE is worth chancing in the hope that blinkers can focus his mind.

El Tesoro should have a big run in him back at 5f, while Birkenhead, Aira Force and Man On A Mission (second choice) all come into the reckoning. SPEED DIAL BAILEYS (nap) is up in grade today but she’s still open to improvement and her two runs at this track have been comfortably the best of her career. She should have more in the locker.

This is a weak handicap and money for one of Thoughtful Gift or Polar Rock would look significant. Of those with recent form Chinese Whisperer (second choice) appeals more than El Royale but a penalty for his narrow success doesn’t leave him well treated. Perhaps OPTICALITY, who has strong claims on last season’s best, may be able belatedly to shed her maiden tag.
