13:15 Zabiari

The Aga Khan has a huge operation in France and it is important that these colours are seen in the winners enclosure, especially on this weekend. The master trainer J C Rouget is aware of that with ZABIARI and he will have left a little to work on with this son of Wootton Bassett.

13:50 Rose Bloom (each-way)

This daughter of Lope De Vega, ROSE BLOOM, was super impressive at Chantilly last time. She has already won over one mile and the family usually act on soft ground.

She can run a big race at an each-way price. This contest is open to a shock as a lot of the field having not been tried at the highest level.

15:05 Continuous

The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is the weekend’s feature and one of the biggest races in the calendar. French superstar Ace Impact puts his unbeaten record on the line and is very lightly raced. He certainly looks like a star in the making having his prep race at Deauville with a little up his sleeve. The slower ground shouldn’t be a problem.

However, the value may lie elsewhere, especially with the English St Leger winner, CONTINUOUS. I’ll forgive his run in the French Derby as he’s a much better horse now than when flopping in that contest in June. It’s hard to be sure how the three-year-olds will fare against the older horses and the German Derby winner, Fantastic Moon, is ridden by a previous Prix de l’ Arc winner in René Piechulek. The Prix Niel winner has to be respected.

The Japanese would love to win this prestigious race and Through Seven Seas has to be taken seriously. He was a close second to Equinox in a Group 1 contest in Japan. The ground is the obvious concern. Westover is another older horse to consider. He has been on a few away days lately and the vibes are good from the camp.

I’m in that camp.

15:50 Blue Rose Cen

The Head family have had winners at this meeting for many years and the French Oaks winner BLUE ROSE CEN hammered Never Ending Story in that contest and a few of today’s opposition also.

She is a worthy favourite and you can write off her last run, as everything would’ve been geared towards this contest.

16:25 Art Power (each-way)

Tim Easterby’s runner, ART POWER, travels very well in his races and this five furlong run will be perfect for him. I am willing to give him another chance despite a couple of below-par runs.

17:00 Kinross

The French crowd would love to see a Frankie Dettori flying dismount and KINROSS is a legend when it comes to winning big races. He has won and been placed in this contest previously and can get the job done again.
