13:15 Longchamp – Rosallion

This is a really open race. Beauvatier probably sets the standard on French form but the fast ground might not be ideal. Aidan O Brien’s Unquestionable has something to prove after too defeats and is hard to have much faith in which leaves Rosallion. He was really impressive two starts ago on good ground at Ascot and the second and fourth have won since. He seemed to dislike the soft ground he faced when getting turned over at Doncaster last time out. He’s back to a firmer surface at Longchamp.

13:50 Longchamp – Les Pavots (each-way)

I respect Darnation, who is improving all the time and she got a timely form boost with Carla’s Way at Newmarket on Friday. Opera Singer arrives on the back of a visually impressive win in a Curragh Group 3 in August but I’ve sided with Les Pavots. She was an impressive winner at Deauville last time out and the second from that race has since run well in the Moyglare. She figures to be an each-way price in a competitive looking race.

15:05 Longchamp – Ace Impact

I expect Westover to reverse the King George form with Hukum. He raced wide without cover for the entire race and made a huge move around the bend, however, neither look particularly well drawn. Continuous was a visually impressive winner of the Leger but he beat Arrest, who would be 100/1 for this. Bay Bridge has come here for cut in the ground but is likely to face the fastest Arc ground in recent memory. Feed The Flame will do well to reverse the form with Fantastic Moon and especially Ace Impact, who is my selection. No points for originality but he’ll be hard to beat. His French Derby win was the most impressive piece of form from any three-year-old this year and his trainer Frau Steinberg is a master for prepping his horses to peak in this race. He’s perfectly drawn and there are no ground concerns.

15:50 Longchamp – Rogue Millennium

Blue Rose Cen is the favourite but I can’t be with her. She was a very forward two-year-old and she was still seemingly ahead of her contemporaries at the start of the year but the rest have caught up. While she had excuses at Goodwood, I thought she ran very flat in the Vermeille and looked beaten a long way out. Rogue Millennium has the right ground to show her best form and she has done it in the past when chasing the likes of Free Wind and Tahiyra home. That form is as good as any here and a repeat of either of those runs should put her close.

16:25 Longchamp – Ponntos

This is an awful race. Highfield Princess is the clear form pick but will find it tough from stall 14. Any double-digit draw in this race is usually a death sentence. Ponntos is drawn in stall two and should lead on the golden rail. His form is patchy, as these sprinters can be, but he will appreciate the sound surface. I’m hoping he can pop out in front and hold on late for part or all of the pieces.

17:00 Longchamp – Kinross

Nothing original but I can’t see past Kinross, who comes here in identical form to when he ran out a most impressive winner of the race last year. The ground, the draw and the trip are all in his favour and a repeat of his run in the race last year or last time out looks like it will suffice.
