Silver Lady had been talked up as a potential superstar when she made her racecourse debut. Connections have taken the patient approach though and we’ve only seen her once sice. She did really well to finish a close-up third at York after being very keen in running and reopposes against similar opposition. She’s been given a break and has the most potential for improvement in this line-up.
Running Lion looked pretty special on her first few starts, including when winning at this venue. She was withdrawn from the Epsom Oaks. She never looked fully comfortable at Salisbury when finishing second last time at Salisbury. She could easily prove head and shoulders above the rest.
Carla’s Way was sent off favourite for the Albany Stakes at the Royal meeting and didn’t quite give her best running. She reappeared after an absence at Goodwood and looked all over the winner until the heavy conditions took their toll and she finished second to Domination who has boosted the form subsequently. Back on a quicker surface we can see an improved display.
Maljoom should be fit for his return to action after some 472 days away. Considering he’s been down for at least one racecourse gallop at Chelmsford just down the road from Newmarket. He also should be coming here with a perfect 100 per cent record as he finished an unlucky fourth in the St James’ Palace Stakes last season to Coroebus. He has more to offer and a future engagement at Ascot can follow a success here.
