16:58 – Dunstan

Ralph Beckett’s DUNSTAN had a similar draw when running well behind a good rival over C&D 19 days ago and must have every chance of going one better. Hebridean Nomad was quite eyecatching back in fourth and he might finish closer, but High Point is the selection’s most likely danger.

17:30 – Happy Hadeda

Rawaasi returns to Kempton seeking to get her career back on track after a slightly disappointing effort at Thirsk, while the speedily bred Little Miss Magic is potentially the pick of the newcomers. However, the standout candidate is HAPPY HADEDA. Hughie Morrison’s charge chased home a useful rival at Newbury last time, and a repeat of that performance ought to make her difficult to beat.

18:00 – Tayala

One or more of the newcomers could spell danger, in particular Cervaro Della Sala and Princess Alice, and the market should give a good idea regarding expectations. TAYALA isn’t nailed on to win a novice on her turf form but it’s possible she did well at Goodwood despite the soft ground rather than because of it and there’s a good chance from her pedigree that she will act well on Polytrack.

18:30 – Outgun (NAP)

This looks competitive. Bohemian Breeze looked to have a bit up his sleeve at Ayr and can again give a good account, while Coco Royale is an interesting handicap newcomer from a top yard and is much respected on her best form to date. Mathematician and D Day Arvalenreeva are others with claims but preference is for OUTGUN (nap), who is going the right way and can take another step forward now up again in trip.

19:00 – Sovereign Spirit

This would be highly competitive if it was certain that they were all still in form but some have shown signs of fraying at the edges of late. SOVEREIGN SPIRIT is one of them but his Goodwood defeat wasn’t the first time he’s run poorly on soft ground and if he hasn’t gone off the boil then he would be interesting back on Polytrack, having impressed on the surface in his two most recent attempts. Things fell right for Humanity at Lingfield but he still makes some appeal now handicapping and is preferred to Maso Bastie and Pride Of Priory of the remainder.

19:30 – King Cabo

This is very open. KING CABO scores highly on the consistency front and on a different day he could easily have won here last week. Rich Rhythm has a high draw but will surely pick up a handicap sooner or later and blinkers might give him an edge. Priscilla’s Wish is hard to knock in her current form.

20:00 – Labiqa

A lot of these are either plain modest or out of form. LABIQA ran her best race yet when sent to Ayr for her handicap debut and she was probably unfortunate not to win. Done Decision could be better drawn but still earns second preference ahead of Fiscal Policy who may benefit from this longer distance.

20:30 – Berkshire Sundance

Although BERKSHIRE SUNDANCE struggled on soft ground back on turf last time he had earlier showed staying events on Polytrack were more his line when a keeping-on third over C&D in August and he should have some potential at the trip. Overstate and Kalamity Kitty are others with claims, along with Doublethetrouble, in good form for his new yard.
