Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPS table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
Assuming there is no repeat of his antics at Doncaster in January, HANDS OFF has a very good opportunity to open his account here. Hereford bumper winner Mikimoto looks interesting on today’s hurdling debut, while there should be improvement to come from Track And Trace at some stage.
An interesting nursery featuring several in-form and progressive fillies. Without Flaw, Happy Tears and Marie’s Secret all come into the reckoning, while Rod Millman’s pair Cypriot Diaspora and Line Of Fire also command respect. Haumea (second choice) looks a likely improver upped to 6f but MEGANISSI is another nursery newcomer with the potential to leave her first three runs well behind her.
Tachos looks to be the best of those with form, though Cornahilt Soldier gets plenty of weight and isn’t ruled out. However, both are vulnerable to a smart newcomer and the nicely-bred SLUICE could be just that having won a barrier trial earlier this month, though this ground will be a different test. Magical Bay is also of interest on debut and the market can be revealing about them.
The draw could have been better but CHIFA has such a great strike-rate over C&D since last October that it looks worth taking the chance that he will find a way round it. Touchwood is likely to go well again but Flatley may prove the main danger to the selection.
