Another very bold show should be on its way from MUKHA MAGIC who is 3-4 at Chelmsford and also ran well at Lingfield on his latest outing. Spit Spot’s course record is almost as good, so she is second on the list ahead of My Chiquita who has unfinished business at this trip judged on her run at Bath 15 days ago when she finished a head in front of Al Azhar, who is also respected.
Just Rita made some late headway at Lingfield on her debut and can take a step forward, while Belle Flora should improve for 1m and Alpen Power (second choice) sets the standard. GREEN SIGMA makes her debut at a modest level though and this well-bred newcomer could be up to making a winning start.
The topweight MONAADHIL (nap) has an exemplary C&D record in this grade and can follow up last Thursday’s win, given that most of his rivals have little to recommend them. Kodi Noir (second choice) clearly has place claims, though, and Hold The Press turned over a new leaf with his win at Lingfield 15 days ago.
A very useful and competitive handicap. EHRAZ shaped as if there’s a race in him off this mark when third in a big-field sprint at York’s Ebor meeting and is given a chance to build on that promise. Misty Grey hasn’t really fired on turf lately but he has an excellent AW record and, from 2lb lower than when successful over 6f here on his latest AW start, is taken to give the selection most to do ahead of thriving pair Aljari and War In Heaven.
This looks quite a puzzle but preference is for BODYGROOVE who should go well judged on his performances at 1m6f/2m in handicaps at other AW tracks on his last three outings. Anticipating has much more to prove on AW but is feared most given that she’s unexposed and could be suited by the longer trip. Grand Duchess Olga was pipped at this track last time out and Greek Giant also holds major interest.
The admirable veteran Boom The Groom might face some competition up front but he’s in rude order and shouldn’t be underestimated in his hat-trick bid. Amor De Mi Vida (second choice) has the ability to feature at this level and is considered but MICK’S SPIRIT should be sharper for his recent Southwell third and can register his first win away from Lingfield.
The well-related Trackman needs a market check on this step up in trip and switch to AW but this may rest between Cryptos Dream, El Royale, Lightning Spark (second choice) and EGOISTE. David Menuisier’s lightly raced 4yo ran well over C&D in May off a higher mark and he shouldn’t be judged too harshly on his latest turf run.
