The form of HARRY THE ROGUE (nap)’s latest effort looks rock solid and having gone close on his last two starts, Andrew Slattery’s charge looks capable of winning at this level. Sportingsilvermine, Look At The Stars and Cardinal Zin are three more that have shown ability and last mentioned could be the main threat over this new trip.
2022’s winner, RUN THE JEWELS, looks capable of going well again off last year’s winning mark having shaped with promise in his last couple of runs. Starting Monday won’t mind the recent rain and one of these should fall the way of Breezy Zoff who has been running well of late.
Plenty of these have shown enough ability to win maidens. SIMPSON’S PARADOX gets the tentative vote. He reportedly didn’t handle the track at Bellewstown but he was knocking on the door previously and the form of his Galway festival second looks above average.
The unexposed SEA GARDENS could be the way to go. Joseph O’Brien’s three-year-old is yet to run a bad race and he gets the services of Wayne Hassett who is very good value for his 7lb claim. Eloquent Arthur gets his conditions and similar can be said for La Tulipe Noire.
Very tricky as many of these are still unexposed in handicaps and market moves could be informative. KERMIYA finished off to great effect when just held over this trip at Galway last time, not getting a clear run and can make amends. Katonah, Right Now, Grey Fable and Night Moon can run well.
This is very open. IMAGINARIUM hasn’t been at his best in two starts this season but might be able to get off the mark now returned to softer ground and his low draw helps. San Martino was 3rd in this race last year when last seen on the Flat and is a player. Vera Verto and No Niki No can run well.
Alcalance and Hey Whatever are closely matched on form and whichever one handles the ground best could emerge on top. However, a chance is taken on CHARMING STAR to improve enough from his promising Navan debut and beat them both, with his pedigree offering encouragement that he can handle this ground. Harsh has a chance if back to his best.
Wide open. If Beautiful Chaos had a better draw she would be the pick but it isn’t easy around here from stall 15. Londonofficecallin has been in fine form but could be high enough in the weights. It could be worth taking a chance on SIR ALLEN, who was 3rd over 1m4f at this meeting last year and was much improved over hurdles since.
