Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPS table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
Send In The Clouds is at the top of his game and a 4lb rise for his recent Bath win does not look excessive, but the suggestion is PLATINUM PRINCE who didn’t fire when last in action but was in good form beforehand and is now back on the same mark as when winning in good style over 1m here for Anna Gibson just over a year ago. Miss Harmony, Habanero Star and Billaki Mou are others to consider.
COMMON PRACTICE showed a good standard of form in juvenile races, keeping company with some of the best of his generation; badly hampered and unseated at the third in a big Leopardstown handicap in February; that was a big task for a horse of his age and he should be competitive now against his contemporaries; cheekpieces for the first time; arguably the pick of the McManus runners.
MALAGO ROSE is improving with experience and beaten less than 10l when fourth over 2m here in July; that form has some substance and she could well be a contender back up in trip on handicap debut.
Study The Stars was allowed an easy lead on his belated comeback here ten days ago and the second quick start on his first crack at beyond 1m4f are two possible causes for concern. Hedonista (second choice) is respected, last month’s C&D fourth having been boosted by wins for the first three since, but MOUNTAIN ROAD, who’s far happier on Polytrack than turf, is back on his last winning mark and shades it.
