13:50 – Blazer Two

A low-grade handicap can go to BLAZER TWO on his third run since he moved up to Lucinda Russell’s stable. He shaped with plenty of promise when third at Hamilton last time and is given the vote ahead of the less exposed pair of Pfingstberg and Foshan.

14:20 – Forever Eighteen

Provided he’s in the same form back on turf, FOREVER EIGHTEEN could well gain compensation for his unlucky AW defeat. He’s likely to go up in the weights when reassessed. Macarone, who could well have more to offer in handicaps, is second choice. Some of the others are possible improvers, most notably Mecca’s Duchess and Salamanca Lad.

14:55 – Maries Secret

Back at the scene of her good effort in July, MARIE’S SECRET looks worth another chance. Lady Ava, who goes handicapping with William Buick booked, is second choice ahead of Crack The Kode who may well have more to offer at this sort of level. Red Iris looks a possible improver.

15:30 – Zabriskie Point

This novice event features an interesting clash between two colts who bring very solid York form. ZABRISKIE POINT, who wasn’t far behind subsequent Group 3 and sales race winners in an Ebor festival nursery, gets the narrow vote over Candonomore who is looking to build on a strong debut effort. Castle In The Sand has something to find but may well show improvement if settling better, while Nabilov and Givitawhirl are appealing newcomers who add further intrigue.

16:05 – Jazzagal

There is a distinct lack of rock-solid options among the runners who already have 6f form, so the suggestion is JAZZAGAL who looks interesting off a handy mark on her first attempt at this distance. Her step up from 5f is well worth exploring. Howyadoin, who remains a maiden but was placed over C&D in July, is second choice ahead of Captain Dandy and Mai Alward.

16:40 – Mezzo Soprano

Again sent up north for another ordinary novice event, the Crisford filly MEZZO SOPRANO appears capable of defying a penalty for her Catterick debut success. She had a lot in hand that day and looks a potentially useful sort. Candy Eye is second choice among the runners with experience, ahead of Top Gun Tina. As regards the two newcomers, heed the market signals.

17:15 – Victoria Falls (NAP)

In terms of solidity, the strongest contenders are the fillies at the top end of the weights. VICTORIA FALLS (nap) won well at Newmarket and gets the vote ahead of Measured Moments, with Purple Gown third choice. Double Tot and Streetzoffilly may be capable of improvement.

17:50 – Roach Power

In an open race a chance is taken on ROACH POWER, who lacks consistency but has conditions to suit and could go well at a decent price. First Greyed, who won here last September, the in-form Mutanaaseq and Ey Up Its Jazz are three others who could go well.
