The ground was fast when SECRET COMMAND won at Carlisle but he might just be progressive anyway. Sergeant Mayer may finish closer to the selection with a better start. Unowho could go well granted soft conditions.

It was a useful event in which DIANARA made her debut at Deauville, and she may need only to repeat the form to get off the mark. Asteverdi took a step forward at Epsom last month and is second choice ahead of My Clementine.

Black Friday should have every chance of following up his Ayr success but ASCOT ADVENTURE deserves a break. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Chookie Dunedin leave his latest run behind.

Marbuzet is a reliable type but BOBBY SHAFTOE is not without hope of reversing Carlisle placings given how that race panned out. Trailblazer would have a bit to prove on slow ground but can’t be dismissed.
19:10 Whiskey Priest
The Grey Lass had a near-miss over same course and distance last month and comes right into the reckoning, while Glory Hallelujah and Gowanbuster both have something to recommend them. The pair to appeal most are Aconcagua Mountain and WHISKEY PRIEST, with the unexposed selection marginally preferred.
He looked one to keep on the right side of at Yarmouth in the summer and he had excuses at Beverley last time. There’s still time for him to deliver an even bigger performance.
