13:40 Galactic Glow

GALACTIC GLOW has enjoyed a productive campaign and registered a third course-and-distance success of the season when scoring here in July. He’s had a busy time of things since then but has largely held his form and has finished placed on his last three outings, including when runner-up behind Barney’s Angel at Windsor last week. He meets that rival on 5lb better terms here and can reverse the form.

14:15 Acer

ACER has been placed on four of her five starts, including in a maiden here last week when she produced her best effort yet to finish runner-up. That effort, which sets the standard on form, came over just shy of six furlongs but she is a speedy filly and should have no problem coping with drop back to five furlongs, so this looks like a good opportunity to get off the mark.

14:50 Irrelevant

IRRELEVANT proved a different proposition when fitted with blinkers for the first time at Kempton last Friday and he scored with plenty in hand. That five-length success shows that he’s well ahead of his handicap mark so, assuming the blinkers do the trick again and he proves as effective on turf, he should be difficult to beat under a 6lb penalty.

15:25 Exorbitant

EXORBITANT looked unlucky not to finish closer when third at Kempton a couple of weeks ago as he was keeping on when hampered a furlong out. It’s still relatively early days for Exorbitant after only three starts in handicap company and he is in excellent hands with Clive Cox, so he could still have a bigger effort in his locker and is worth siding with on his first attempt at five furlongs.

16:00 Buccabay

BUCCABAY is still searching for a first win this season but he has slipped in the weights and may be able to take advantage now entering 0-75 company. He has been running respectably of late and left the impression that the drop to the minimum trip wasn’t ideal when keeping on well in fifth at Sandown last time, so this slight step up in trip to just shy of six furlongs should help.

16:35 Club Manager

CLUB MANAGER was only fifth when sent off favourite at Chelmsford last time but he wasn’t seen to best effect having been held up in a race run at a steady gallop, while he also met some trouble over two furlongs out. He is better judged on the form of his previous outing when he readily got off the mark at Kempton and his pedigree suggests he could still have more to offer (he’s a half-brother to Group 1 winner Side Glance and the smart Rawaki).

17:10 Gone

GONE has been kept busy during a productive season that has already yielded four wins and she showed that she remains in form when runner-up at Ripon last week. She found only a progressive rival who was completing a five-timer too strong on that occasion and she looks likely to give a good account off of the same mark here. Gone produced one of her best performances when a decisive winner over this course and distance earlier in the campaign.
