Bulldog Drummond looks a potential improver on nursery/AW debut, though his pedigree raises doubts over the extra 2f. C&D winner American Tale is weighted to reverse Saturday’s Wolverhampton running with Primetime, but the vote goes to HAYA TAAL whose two AW efforts (including here) have been rather better than his two starts on turf. Rosenzoo seems to be progressing steadily and ought to make his presence felt.
18:00 – Zaman Daar
Kandy House and Zola Power (second choice) have both shown their mettle in AW handicaps of late and can go well again but there is also hope for ZAMAN DAAR who can have excuses made for his recent defeats and could find his level back at 6f on Polytrack. She Is A Keeper can also play a part.
18:30 – Sparklight
Nelson Rose enters the reckoning on her peak form and has claims if she can bounce back on this drop back in trip. Lincoln Royal could be dangerous with a tongue-tie added on her return from a break, while there are some newcomers who need watching in the market including Shallow and Fair Angellica. However, the vote goes to Eve Johnson Houghton’s solid contender SPARKLIGHT, who has form figures of 2243 and both of her runner-up efforts came at this track.
19:00 – Star Music
High Handed sets the standard on her promising debut fourth over C&D last month but slight preference is for STAR MUSIC, who has stayed on well to finish third in both her runs and looks a likely improver on this step up in trip. The pick of the newcomers could be Ollie Sangster’s well-bred filly Private Getaway, who is a half-sister to a useful 7f 2yo winner.
19:30 – Rose Light
Preference is for ROSE LIGHT, who kept on well for a close second over C&D last month and that was behind a progressive 3yo who got first run. She’s only 1lb higher today and is a big player if she can back that up. Second choice is Daphne May, who has won four times this year and wasn’t far behind the selection here last time. The other one on the shortlist is Folk Star, who has finished close up at this track in her last two runs.
20:00 – Let Life Happen
An interesting race in which the vote goes to LET LIFE HAPPEN, who has finished second in all of her three runs and just about sets the standard on her eyecatching effort over C&D last time. Atlantis Blue has numerous runner-up efforts in her form figures and she’s feared most ahead of Cracksking, who could resume his progress at this new trip. Waxing Gibbous looks a likely improver upped to 1m4f on her second start, while others to consider are Another Beautiful and Trust House.
20:30 – Silver Nightfall (NAP)
Top of the list is SILVER NIGHTFALL (nap), who has form figures of 122131 on AW and really kicked on again with her smooth success over C&D two weeks ago. Open Champion turned things around with his rallying second here last month and he’s feared most ahead of the unexposed Mordor, who looks interesting on his handicap debut.
