Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPS table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
The three at the head of the weights make most appeal in this low-grade handicap. MORANDI SECOND is selected to get off the mark on his first run at this trip by beating his former stable companion Beauty To Behold and C&D winner Prince Nino.
Some useful bumper and maiden hurdle form gives TOMAS O MAILLE a solid each-way chance in his first handicap. Sligo fourth Makfils has prospects along with Listentillitellyea who was behind him then but has a definite chance on the basis of a previous Ballinrobe second. Cozone and Realism may also feature.
Preference is for SPIRIT OF ASH, who won a similar event here on her sole Tapeta start and may have more to offer back on this surface. The other C&D winners, Balqaa (second choice) and Calcutta Dream, also warrant respect returned to this venue. Casa Luna is interesting with Hollie Doyle back on board, while some of the 3yo contenders may be capable of going well.
Several of these have a squeak. BLUE IN THE WEST is worth chancing with improvement likely from his handicap debut at Tramore. Getaway Master should also improve from his decent fourth at Kilbeggan. Sittingonthefence has a 6lb rise to deal with for a narrow Sligo win, while Nuttoridge, Amazing Amy, and Delias Pet are others that could run well.
