Dual winner KRONA had a wide trip throughout before staying on too late in the day at Wolverhampton last week and she can get the better of Robusto. Gastronomy can be given a chance if he shrugs aside his latest disappointment.
17:30 Spirit of Ash
Preference is for SPIRIT OF ASH, who won a similar event here on her sole Tapeta start and may have more to offer back on this surface. The other C&D winners, Balqaa (second choice) and Calcutta Dream, also warrant respect returned to this venue. Casa Luna is interesting with Hollie Doyle back on board, while some of the 3yo contenders may be capable of going well.
18:00 Speed Court
The newcomers need checking in the betting but some of those with experience set a reasonable standard. SPEED COURT, Miaswell and Chiefman were all beaten by good prospects on their latest starts and are suggested in that order of preference.
18:30 Polly The Rocket
A tricky contest that includes plenty of nursery newcomers who look open to improvement at this level. POLLY THE ROCKET, who has earned top weight judged on her debut effort, is the suggestion ahead of Tees Warrior who is interesting back down in distance. Wichahpi and Desert Raider are respected from a pedigree angle. Most of the others are difficult to dismiss completely.

19:00 Dream Final
Hidden Code (second choice) and Aurora Glory have a combined record of 0-22 but they are two of the main form contenders in a decidedly ordinary maiden contest. However, the much less exposed DREAM FINAL is more appealing despite his lack of recent match practice. The selection’s good claims will be cemented if there is market confidence.
19:30 Laertes
Off a reduced mark back over 6f, LAERTES may be able to open his account on only his second run for Mick Appleby. The selection got going too late over 5f when failing to justify market confidence on his debut for the stable. Mai Alward, another runner who should be suited by the return to this distance, is second choice ahead of Blackcurrent and Mumcat who both look likely to go well. Frank The Spark is open to progress.
20:00 Nazca (nap)
The drop to sprinting has worked a treat for NAZCA (nap), who can make it 3-3 over 6f. The return to Newcastle could be a big positive for Zegos Surprise on her first run for Paul Collins and she is second choice ahead of Captain Dandy, who has been gelded since last time.
20:30 Urban Dandy
The return to Tapeta is a likely positive for URBAN DANDY and he earns the vote ahead of the in-form Glorious Rio, who won a division of this race in 2021. Latin Five is a player if transferring his good turf form back to AW.
