13:35 Kempton – Bay Bridge

He’s well clear on official ratings and I find it incredibly hard to look away from BAY BRIDGE. He will be the cornerstone of many accumulators on a red-hot busy Saturday. He steps up in distance to 1m 4f for the first time, but that should prove no problem.

13:50 Haydock – Chindit

Although he didn’t produce his best last time when third to a stablemate at Newbury, this track over this distance is going to be ideal for CHINDIT. He is normally held up right behind the leaders and Light Infantry will be trying to come from further back, which isn’t ideal at this venue.

14:10 Kempton – Keyser Soze (each-way)

When you get away from the favourite Kathab, it’s a wide-open betting contest and KEYSER SOZE has been handed an inside stall position in box two and has some very good form around this venue.

He may get a slice of the action at a big price if his potent change of gear late on is still intact at the age of nine.

14:25 Haydock – Naqeeb

A 1m 6f handicap and NAQEEB was incredibly impressive when winning on the bridle by 10 lengths last time at Kempton. He now dips his toe into much hotter waters but is quite clearly progressing.

Denmark is going to be popular in the market, but he has blinkers on for a second time to see if they’ll work again and that’s a pet hate of mine.

14:35 Ascot – Popmaster

He ran an incredibly good race last time at Newbury considering he was caught out on the wing at Newbury. That shouldn’t happen to POPMASTER now given he has horses drawn on either side of him from stall 10. He has some rock solid form at Ascot and will have no problem rattling along over the 7f trip.

14:45 Leopardstown – Tahiyra/Cadeau Belle (each-way)

Dermot Weld’s filly TAHIYRA has one defeat to her name in the English 1,000 Guineas and is unsurprisingly going to be very short in the market. CADEAU BELLE was a red-hot favourite at Royal Ascot but ran no sort of race. It’s not surprising that the Murtagh team are willing to put a line through that and roll the dice at the top level. She’s a big each-way player.

15:00 Haydock – Post Impressionist

POST IMPRESSIONIST is undoubtedly my biggest cliff horse ever, but you only have to look back at his run in the Ebor at York where he was only beaten by 3 and 1/2 lengths to see why he’s getting one last chance with me. He’s very talented, but obviously quirky. Hopefully, he finally lands a big pot.

15:10 Ascot – True Legend

He was incredibly unlucky at Goodwood a couple of races ago and they completely changed tactics at York and forced the issue from a long way home. TRUE LEGEND paid the price that day and finished tamely. More patient tactics will hopefully be applied now and that can see a return to the winner’s enclosure.

15:20 Leopardstown – Nashwa

This could prove to be a cat-and-mouse contest with hardly any pace in the line-up. Only Luxembourg is a likely front runner and if they sprint for home, NASHWA is undoubtedly the quickest in the line-up and can be a big beneficiary from a tactically-run race.

15:35 Haydock – Shaquille

Let’s hope that all the work at home with the ‘comfort blanket’ gets him to behave in the starting stalls because SHAQUILLE is head and shoulders above the rest if everything clicks into place. He’s the best sprinter in the UK by some way. Despite being a big field, he looks completely dominant in the line-up.
