17:55 – Due Consideration

Most of these have plenty to prove and the one that stands out is DUE CONSIDERATION, who made a bold bid on his nursery debut at Musselburgh last week and pulled a long way clear with the winner in that race. He’s well treated off the same mark as for that near miss and is a strong contender on this drop back in trip. Irrelevant wasn’t beaten far at Chepstow on Monday and he’s feared most ahead of the nursery newcomer Mbappe.

18:30 – Fire Demon

Ralph Beckett has two interesting contenders in Allegorical and the striking debutant Farizio, while there are several other well-bred newcomers who need a close look in the market. However, the vote goes to Andrew Balding’s colt FIRE DEMON, who left his debut form well behind when a clear second at Newbury last month and sets a good standard on that form.

19:00 – Lambert

Dunstan (second choice) ought to build upon last month’s very encouraging debut at Kempton but it’s hard to see beyond LAMBERT, who bids to complete a hat-trick after two emphatic 7f wins.

19:30 – Venus Rosewater

This looks tricky. Copy Artist and Ivory Madonna have the best form but they’ve been disappointing in their last two runs and have questions to answer. Beccara Rose has been running well in handicaps and is respected back in a maiden, while there are two striking newcomers in the line-up who need a close look in the market. However, it might be worth siding with VENUS ROSEWATER, who showed clear promise in both her runs last month and is open to more progress on this drop back in trip.

20:00 – Change Sings

Bill Plumb has found plenty of improvement on AW this year and is strongly respected in his bid to make it four wins from his last five starts. Polytrack specialist Lilkian has claims back in this sphere, while dual C&D winner Mighty Gurkha also enters the reckoning. However, preference is for the lightly raced 3yo CHANGE SINGS, who made all in a 7f handicap here on his penultimate run and is open to more progress on this switch to sprinting.

20:30 – Medieval Gold (NAP)

Noble Masquerade has become well handicapped and his latest run hinted at a possible return to form but MEDIEVAL GOLD (nap) is slightly ahead of the handicapper after his good effort in defeat at Newbury ten days ago and, after only four runs, it’s unlikely we’ve seen the best of him. Prosecco and Intergalacticat also make significant appeal.

21:00 – Sophar Sogood

Team Endeavour has been placed on Polytrack in his last two runs and should go well again, while Hourless and Imperial Cult have both shaped like stayers at times and look interesting on their step up to this trip. The versatile 5yo Liberated Lad is another key player but the one who appeals most is John Butler’s SOPHAR SOGOOD. He went close off a reduced mark over C&D last time and is a big player if he can back that up on this drop back in grade.
