14:00 – Bollin Margaret
Bollin Margaret has been kept busy this season and she registered a third win of a productive campaign at Ripon last week, always looking in control inside the final furlong despite being closed down late on. She escapes a penalty for that three-quarter-length success as it was achieved in an apprentice handicap and she ought to launch another bold bid off the same mark.
14:30 – Elmonjed
Elmonjed is bred to be useful – his dam is a sister to the high-class Ertijaal and has already produced useful sprinters Khanjar and Pinafore – and he looked a good prospect when making a winning debut at Lingfield last month, impressing with how well he picked up to hit the front close home. He ended up winning cosily by three-quarters of a length under hand riding and is entitled to progress with that experience under his belt, so he can defy a penalty here.
15:00 – Goodeveningmrbond
Goodeveningmrbond stepped up on his efforts in maiden/novice company when finishing third on his handicap debut at Doncaster last month and he took another step forward to get off the mark at Chepstow last week. Goodeveningmrbond was slowly away but a truly-run race back at five furlongs suited him and he kept on well to hit the front inside the final half-furlong and was well on top at the finish. He could still have more to offer and a 6 lb penalty should not be enough to stop him following up.

15:30 – L’Ennemi
L’Ennemi is a half-brother to several winners, including the very smart Polydream who scored at Group 1 level, and though he was clearly in need of the experience when sixth in a six-furlong novice on debut at Newbury in July he shaped with encouragement. He duly stepped up on that when runner-up in a seven-and-a-half-furlong maiden at Beverley last month, though he still didn’t look like the finished article there and is likely to progress again. This well-bred colt can open his account at the third time of asking.
16:05 – The Bitter Moose
The Bitter Moose ran his best race yet when third on his handicap debut at Epsom last month, seeing out the trip well on his first attempt at seven furlongs. He can have that effort upgraded slightly as he didn’t get the clearest of runs up the inside, while it’s worth noting that the runner-up has since won impressively to give a boost to the form. There could still be more to come from The Bitter Moose, a 140,000 guineas yearling purchase, and he ought to give a good account off the same mark as at Epsom.
16:40 – Royal Mila
Royal Mila is well bred – her dam is out of 1000 Guineas winner Russian Rhythm – and she looked like a good prospect when making a successful start to her career at Goodwood in May, responding well to assert close home and get the verdict by a neck. She was then found a good opportunity under a penalty at Windsor the following month and after taking a little bit of warming up she proved strong at the finish, drawing three and three-quarter lengths clear. She remains with plenty of potential and can score on her handicap debut to extend her unbeaten record.
17:10 – Real Terms
Real Terms wasn’t seen to best effect when third at Ayr last time as, after breaking slowly, she was held up in a steadily-run race over a mile and a quarter. That contest didn’t provide a sufficient test of stamina for Real Terms who should be well suited by stepping back up to 1m 4f now and she is worth siding with having slipped 2lb below her last winning mark.
