Secret Handsheikh is 1lb lower in the weights than when successful over this course and distance in April and he has a good record here, with his form figures at this quirky venue reading: 231. He can brush aside his latest effort and bounce back.

LOOBY has yet to build on a promising debut effort but the fact she was sent off at 7/2 for a Newmarket maiden on her second start and then asked to contest a valuable conditions stakes at Goodwood suggests that she’s well regarded by connections. She’s yet to meet those expectations but it’s still early days and the switch to handicap company could help bring about a bigger effort.

15:00 My Clementine

Those with experience don’t set an exacting standard so this could be a good chance for MY CLEMENTINE My Clementine to make a successful debut. The Churchill filly boasts a good pedigree being out of a Group 3 winner who has already produced several winners, including some useful types, so she makes appeal on paper. Trainer Charlie Johnston sent out an across-the-card double on Saturday.

BERNARD SPIERPOINT has been below his best on his last few starts but he has had excuses and it would be little surprise were he to bounce back at a course where he won in fine style earlier in the campaign, landing a gamble with plenty to spare in a six-furlong classified stakes. That is one of three victories he has already registered during a productive campaign and he looks worth siding with.

16:10 Tawtheef

TAWTHEEFTawtheef has finished runner-up on both starts over this course and distance, proving his effectiveness at this venue, and he is 2lb lower in the weights than when beaten only half a length here in April. He was down the field at Epsom a couple of weeks ago, but it’s possible he’ll be sharper for that outing which was his first start for a few months, and he’s on a handy mark if putting it all together.

16:45 Reel Power

REEL POWER got off the mark in decisive fashion with a two-and-a-half-length success in a classified stakes over this course and distance in July and he ran at least as well when runner-up in handicap company at Windsor last month, just unable to match the winner’s turn of foot when it mattered. He clearly arrives here in form and ought to give a good account after edging up only 1lb for his latest effort.

17:20 Intercessor

INTERCESSOR is still searching for a first win this season but, with a tongue-tie fitted for the first time, he ran well when third at Leicester 12 days ago and was beaten only half a length and a neck. He is able to run off the same mark here which means he is still 1lb below his last winning mark, while it’s worth noting he ran well when runner-up over this course and distance earlier in the campaign.
