Macs Dilemma and Airshow both usually make the running and are drawn next to each other in the bottom two stalls in a tightly knit handicap. Pavlodar (second choice) has got it together since dropped in trip and should go well under the penalty but HELLO ZABEEL, who won first time out early in the year, gets the nod, going for a new yard without the cheekpieces sported in early summer.

14:45 – Shaws Phoenix

In a weak nursery SHAWS PHOENIX is taken to win on her handicap debut, with Unleash Hell, who wears cheekpieces for the first time, the most likely danger.

15:20 – Marie Laveau

Azahara Palace had the quirky Kracking behind last time and merits respect as a dual C&D winner, but she has a well-fancied fellow front-runner Hey Lyla drawn in the stall next door and something will have to give. That aside, perhaps the hood will help MARIE LAVEAU, whose recent comeback effort over 1m2f is probably best ignored, and she gets the vote.

15:55 – Laoisman

Seattle Time will find this easier than his second assignment and still has plenty of scope to progress from his very encouraging debut. However, LAOISMAN looked suited by the drop to 6f when giving a short-odds favourite a real fright at Windsor last month and he is the most persuasive option.

16:30 – Cloudy Breeze

A chance is taken on CLOUDY BREEZE, who is far from consistent but has run her best races when fresh and returns from a two-month break. Porterinthejungle, Bama Lama and Louis Treize are three others to consider.

17:05 – Montevideo

This is somewhat weaker than either of the Class 2 novices MONTEVIDEO contested in early summer and she sets a clear standard on both of those efforts. Brora Breeze, who’s making her turf debut back from an absence, could be the one to give her most to think about.

17:40 – Flight Of Angels (NAP)

This doesn’t look to be the strongest of handicaps and the choice is FLIGHT OF ANGELS (nap), who has maintained her form since winning at Wetherby in June. Ectocross and Emperor’s Clothes are two others likely to run well.
