Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPS table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.

So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…

14:25 Chelmsford City – Nukanan (Racing Post)
Emperor’s Star will be a danger to all if back to his debut form and this surface should be more to his liking than the heavy ground he was faced with last time. Several of these are open to improvement but perhaps none more so than NUKANAN, whose Salisbury third was chock-full of promise. That form has been franked already and he can take a good step forward over this longer trip.
14:30 Bath – Black Smoke (The Guardian)
Having given easily his most competitive display to win over 1m2f on soft ground on his British debut, BLACK SMOKE may be able to find more improvement to score again. Today’s going may be different but the extra distance could suit. He’s a 6yo but had had only one race before this March. Charlie Arthur can pose the greatest threat if the ground has not gone softer than good, which would also seemingly boost the chance of Mrembo, while hat-trick seeking This Ones For Fred is also on the shortlist.
15:35 Navan – Rochester Mike (Irish Sun)
An interesting handicap. Eastern Wind will go well if bringing his Leopardstown form with him, as will Is That Love if able to run to his claiming form. Punk Poet is respected even with an 11lb penalty for his Dundalk success, while Perfect Poise got no run last day and is the Lyons first string. There could be a lot more to come from ROCHESTER MIKE, yet to catch fire this season but gelded since his last run and with cheekpieces tried. He could be very well-handicapped.
16:15 Carlisle – Peaceful Protest (Daily Record)
Having been on the wrong end of both a draw and pace bias when mid-division at Beverley, PEACEFUL PROTEST gets the nod on his second nursery start. Up The Jazz is much better than he showed at Hamilton and may be the chief danger ahead of the Charlie Johnston-trained handicap newcomer Quintus Maximus. Newcastle winner Star Of Lazise has to be respected, while Newmarket-trained nursery debutant Krysdanjord is one to watch in the betting.
