Emperor’s Star will be a danger to all if back to his debut form and this surface should be more to his liking than the heavy ground he was faced with last time. Several of these are open to improvement but perhaps none more so than NUKANAN, whose Salisbury third was chock-full of promise. That form has been franked already and he can take a good step forward over this longer trip.

Lohengrin and Velvet Crush each shaped with plenty of promise on their respective debuts and both should appreciate this step up in trip. They are much respected, but it may be worth siding with the nicely bred debutant RAQEEBB whose stable won this with a newcomer last year.

15:25 Bear Profit

Hello Me seems likely to run a big race in a bid to enhance her already impressive strike-rate on the AW, while Justcallmepete and Secret Moment are others to consider. The consistent Northern Spirit is another worthy of respect on Polytrack debut, but it may be worth giving BEAR PROFIT another chance. He likes it here (record 1134) and has dropped 6lb lower than when last successful.

15:55 Boom The Groom

Universal Grace is one for the shortlist racing off the same mark as when runner-up here last time where she had a couple of today’s rivals behind, while same course and distance (C&D) winners Toplight and Mintana are also worth a second look. However, BOOM THE GROOM is taken to record career win number 12. The veteran showed he still had it when making all at Lingfield last time and he has the necessary early pace to make full use of the inside stall.

16:25 Daisy Roots (NAP)

Native Melody and Twilight Jazz have recent winning form which makes them of interest in this company, but preference is for DAISY ROOTS (NAP) who also hit the target relatively recently and is already due a 1lb rise for her near miss at Kempton eight days ago. The returning Capla Quest is worth a market check.

16:55 Crazy Spin

C&D winner Oscar Doodle comes into this in good heart and seems likely to play a leading role but he might have to give best to CRAZY SPIN, who may be able to boss things from the front and has the form necessary to make a major impact at this level in any case. Global Style also has the form to make him worth plenty of respect in this field, but stall 13 may pose a real problem. Eltham Palace has a good record over C&D and looks best of the others.
