14:00 – SHE’S QUALITY
SHE’S QUALITY cost €195,000 as a yearling and she has shown fairly useful form in three starts so far, finishing third to a now-smart rival on debut at the Curragh and not looking at all out of place when hitting the frame in a Group 3 on her next start. She progressed again when again placed in maiden company back at the Curragh last time and she sets a good standard for these rivals to aim at, while she should have even more to offer. Star Music made a promising debut when third at Salisbury so rates the main threat, though market support for Charlie Appleby’s expensive newcomer Romantic Style would look significant.
14:30 – LOADED QUIVER
LOADED QUIVER showed plenty of ability when runner-up on his first two outings and showed slight improvement when going one place better in a maiden at Brighton earlier this month, making all of the running and displaying a good attitude when challenged close home. He still didn’t look the finished article on that occasion, so there should be even more to come now sent handicapping, and an opening mark of 75 seems lenient now sporting first-time cheekpieces. American Tale also won last time and he possesses plenty of scope, with Mitwaa likely to do better now allotted a mark.

15:05 – CAPTAIN CUDDLES
CAPTAIN CUDDLES opened his account at the third attempt last season, not having to improve to do so, but putting his previous experience in some hot novice races to good use. He has ran much better than he did earlier in the year on his last two starts, finishing third at Ascot last month and arguably proving better than ever when runner-up over course and distance last time. He travelled well on that occasion, but possibly went for home too soon, and had nothing left to give when the winner past him in the final furlong.
The handicapper has left him on the same mark and he is likely to be knocking on the door again. Change Sings was seen to good effect when scoring on handicap debut at Kempton but he’s a well-bred type who can do better again.
15:40 – CLASSIC
CLASSIC had some solid form as a juvenile and made his reappearance in the Greenham over course and distance in April. He finally put it all together when opening his account for the season at Sandown last month, keen in the early stages but finding plenty in the closing stages to win with a bit up his sleeve. He was well backed to follow up back over this course and distance last time and shaped much better than the bare result, moving through the race like a well-handicapped horse and likely to have gone close to winning with more luck in-running and if he made his effort earlier.
This doesn’t look as competitive and he has excellent claims from the same mark. Metabolt looked back in form at Windsor recently and must enter calculations, along with Monte Linas, who’s better judged on his York win having seemed unsuited by testing ground at Sandown last time.
16:15 – GORDON GREY
GORDON GREY shaped well on his debut over a mile at this course in a race which has worked out well last season and he showed much improved form when runner-up on his handicapdebut over a mile and a quarter at Newmarket last month. He wasn’t quite able to reward the weight of money behind him, but he was carried right entering the final furlong and continued to be taken that way.
Gordon Grey didn’t build on that promise last time, but he shaped like he will relish this extra two furlongs, and is well worth another chance to confirm himself on a good mark. Sailing On, Medieval Gold and African Star all have unexposed potential now switching to handicap company and may provide the main opposition.
16:50 – KHINJANI
KHINJANI found only the progressive Gallant Lion, who has gone in twice again since, over this course and distance last month prior to going one place better at Haydock 17 days ago. She appeared to have more in hand than the winning margin would suggest on that occasion and, up just 2 lb, she is taken to strike again. Forest Demon, also successful last time, is feared most ahead of the upped-in-trip Gold Aura and handicap-debutant Unlimited.
