The sole AW contest on the card looks quite open. The shortlist is headed by the C&D winners ROBUSTO and Royal Athena in that order of preference. The selection is a Prescott 3yo who may resume his progress returned to this surface, while the second choice has solid-looking claims back here. Tapeta scorer Turner Girl (third choice) has a good chance if proving as effective back on Polytrack, while a few others also have clear possibilities.
17:45 – Girl Magic (NAP)
The 3yo filly GIRL MAGIC (nap) made it 2-2 here (both 6f) when winning last time out and should have the speed to cope with the drop back to 5f. She gets the nod ahead of Betweenthesticks, who was running well in defeat prior to a lesser performance at Chepstow last time. Recent Brighton winner Faustus is also respected.
18:20 – Topo Chico
Provided she backs up the form of her emphatic Windsor success, TOPO CHICO looks capable of defying a penalty. Talamanca, who looks poised for a big run, is second choice ahead of Shot who gets another crack at racing after initial broodmare duties didn’t work out. Most of the others cannot be comfortably ruled out.
18:50 – Cajetan
As the top choice on form and the only runner holding Group entries, CAJETAN has particularly strong claims. Havanagreattime, who ran well at Glorious Goodwood last time, is feared most ahead of Townsend Manor who is progressing steadily. The market signals should help to ascertain where the newcomers fit in.
19:20- Belo Horizonte
Having shown clear improvement in two races dropped to this grade last week, BELO HORIZONTE arrives in the best form and could well defy a penalty for his Yarmouth success. Blue Curacao, who makes her classified debut, is second choice ahead of Sapphire’s Moon.
19:50 – Sparked
Windsor runner-up SPARKED can go one better turned out quickly before she’s reassessed. Imperiousity, who should be suited by the return to 5f and has William Buick on board, is second choice ahead of I’m Mable and Thank The Lord.
