13:50 – Newbury – Klondike – Morning Star

CLONDIKE won 1m3f maiden here (soft) on debut in April; improved form in defeat in Listed race at Goodwood (1m3f, good) in May and Group 3 at Newmarket (1m5f, good to firm; tongue tied) in July; needs better still but, for one so lightly raced, it may well be possible.

15:50 – Ripon – Challet – The Star

The vote goes to CHALLET who is well treated on last year’s form and is ideally drawn at a track where he has tasted success before. Like the selection, Spirit Catcher is likely to be ridden prominently at a track which tends to suit such tactics and he can fill the forecast spot ahead of Dungar Glory.

KANDOO improved greatly on first two starts when third on final two runs in Ireland (about 5f, soft/6f, good) and there was hardly anything in it when she went down narrowly over same course and distance (C&D) 15 days ago on debut for new yard; looks sure to be bang there; cheekpieces fitted.
