Beverley 14:30 – SERGEANT MAYER
10/1 – 1.5 points EW 4 places
SERGEANT MAYER shown definite signs of promise in last two runs and gets into this nursery off what looks like a low mark of 62 given what has been shown so far. Nigel Tinkler is a shrewd trainer who likes it here and will have targeted one for this race. The trainer and jockey combination do well together, plenty of value about this price.
Beverley 15:30 – JOHN KIRKUP
8/1 – 1.5 points EW 4 places
JOHN KIRKUP looked to be running a big race at Musselburgh last time out and the jockey looked to have plenty of horse under him when getting short of room and therefore unable to be produced properly. Got the plum draw here at Beverley in stall 1 in the sprints and if able to get a clearer run should be running a big race today.
Beverley 16:30 – STRANGERONTHESHORE
7/1 – 1.5 points EW
STRANGERONTHESHORE could repeat last year in bringing an end to Temper Trap’s run of wins on going she much prefers and Temper Trap hasn’t performed at her best on. Strangerontheshore now dropped in the handicap and gets here 1lb below her last winning while Temper Trap is 5lb above that losing mark to our selection from last year. Looks to be weighted to win and a big challenge to the fav.
Salisbury 15:40 – Eye Of The Water
5/1 – 1.5 points EW
EYE OF THE WATER has a great record here with one win and two places from four starts. Two places in three races this year, so clearly in good hear and has been knocking on the door this year, looks a winner in waiting and today could be the day.
Salisbury 16:40 – MISTRAL STAR
9/2 – 1.5 points EW 3 places
MISTRAL STAR is a previous course winner who is upped in trip today to a trip which should suit based on pedigree. Shown much better form on quicker ground which is what she gets again today and is open to all kinds of improvement here. Progressive type who holds a very good chance today in a decent looking race.
