Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPs table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
Judge Frank sets the standard on his debut form but he flopped next time and again has several interesting newcomers to contend with. MOYASSR, who looks potentially above average having cost £150,000 in April, is first choice ahead of Flavour Maker who has a very appealing pedigree. A few others also have respectable credentials and the betting should help to firm up the pecking order.
A chance is taken on WILLING TO PLEASE, who has slipped to a handy mark, is better drawn than on her last couple of starts and now gets cheekpieces and P J McDonald. She’s taken to beat recent winners How Bizarre and Dr Rio in what looks an open event.
Stage Show was a creditable third in a Class 4 at Sandown last time and is a key player if he’s unfazed by this switch back to fast ground. Queen’s Company is 2-5 at Yarmouth and looks interesting back at this track, while Perfect Gentleman could be dangerous on his step back up in trip. However, the vote goes to triple C&D winner FLOWER OF THUNDER, who was a clear second here two weeks ago and that was behind a handicap blot who has won again since.
Inverinate has done well since being gelded and he still has scope for further progress. Eyeshadow is still unexposed and looks interesting on her drop back in trip, while Ideal Guest also enters the reckoning along with King Of The Dance. However, the vote goes to ARBAAWI, who knuckled down well when justifying support on his step up to 7f at Lingfield and remains feasibly treated off his revised mark.
