14:00 – Midnight Lir

This doesn’t look the strongest race of its type and it is an excellent opportunity for MIDNIGHT LIR to open his account. He showed steady progress on his first four starts in minor and maiden company and ran his best race to date when runner-up on handicap debut at Yarmouth last month. That form sets a good standard in this field and he is a big player back in maiden company. Mia Toretto knew her job and showed ability when third on debut at Pontefract and she can also feature.

14:35 – Hint Of The Jungle

Ed Dunlop is having his best season for a while and HINT OF THE JUNGLE can provide the yard with another winner. He has a speedy pedigree and fared best of the newcomers when beaten three lengths in fifth at Windsor last month, showing good speed before tiring in the closing stages. He is entitled to come on that that effort and the form is also working out well, so he looks the one to side with for an in-form yard. Whogoesthere rates the biggest threat, ahead of Nouveaux.

15:10 – User Amistoso

USER AMISTOSO sales price rose to 100,000 guineas at the breeze-ups earlier this year and he shaped well on debut in an interesting maiden at Newmarket last month. He could only run to a similar level on his latest start at Doncaster, but that came on much softer ground, and the winner looked potentially smart. This race doesn’t appear as strong and he won’t have to improve much further to play a leading role. Magsood is a clear threat, with well-related newcomer Filey Beach of obvious interest.

15:45 – Dr Rio

DR RIO had fallen below his last winning mark and was well supported to resume winning ways over this course and distance last month, travelling well and hanging to his right once hitting the front inside the final furlong suggesting he had even more to offer. A subsequent 4 lb rise still leaves him well treated on the pick of his form and he seems sure to launch another bold bid. Addie Boo Boo, who now goes in first-time blinkers, is also of interest based on her effort at Lingfield two starts back.

16:20 – Beltane

BELTANE won a handicap at Musselburgh in April and was purchased out of Keith Dalgleish’s stable fairly cheaply afterwards. He has made a positive start for these connections, building on a couple of solid efforts when resuming winning ways in a strongly-run race over further at this course in June. He wasn’t in the same form at Pontefract last time, but that was a messy race, and he is the type to quickly bounce back. Metahorse, On The River and Craven are a trio of others to consider.

16:50 – Havana Party

Having got off the mark for the campaign at Ayr in June, HAVANA PARTY confirmed he’s in excellent nick when third at Hamilton later that month. Back from a break and on the same mark, he looks the way to go, with Where’s Jeff and Sagauteur a couple of potential threats.

17:25 – Whiskey Priest

It might be worth giving WHISKEY PRIEST the benefit of the doubt for his disappointment at Ayr last time, as his Yarmouth win prior to that was promising and he should have even more to offer. John Quinn’s Mistamac was back on song when in front of the selection at Ayr last time and is second choice ahead of Tim Easterby’s Saleet.
