13:35 – Ascot – Michaelas Boy

Michaelas Boy did really well in the Rockingham Stakes at the Curragh when second behind Harry’s Hill. That was a solid run from Michael Appleby’s runner and he’s off a winnable mark here. He’s drawn in stall seven and could still be improving.

14:10 – Ascot – The Very Man

The Very Man ran on from a long way back when second at Galway last time out and he’ll run his race coming off the pace. Jessie Harrington’s horses are in good form too.

14:25 – Haydock – Isle Of Jura

I like Isle Of Jura, who has a big penalty for winning impressively last time out at Newmarket. He’s on for a hat-trick and I fancy him to get it.

14:45 – Ascot – La Yakel (NAP)

La Yakel ran well here in July and I’m delighted that William Haggas has given him a month’s break before running again. His last Ascot race was tough and he didn’t have the fitness to win. This time round should be different.

15:00 – Haydock – Midnight Mile

Midnight Mile is a filly on the up and she’s going places for Richard Fahey. She finished behind Meditate last year and she comes into this on the back of her impressive win at York.

15:20 – Ascot – The Wizard Of Eye

There are plenty of exposed runners in the line-up and I’ve landed on the top weight The Wizard Of Eye. He’s been running okay without getting his head in front. He’s now rated 103 and he ran a fair race at Goodwood. He could go well.

15:40 – Newmarket – Carolina Reaper

Soprano sets the standard despite being well beaten last time out at Sandown. Carolina Reaper could be a better value pick though. She won at Newmarket last time out and she’s going in the right direction.

15:55 – Ascot – Like A Tiger

Like A Tiger has solid form. His run behind Cumulonimbus was decent and he came home well.  He looks like he’s crying out to go further and his step up in trip could bring out improvement.

16:30 – Ascot – Radio Goo Goo

Quinault has to carry a 7lb penalty and that could be his undoing as connections chase a magnificent seventh win on the vounce. I’m with Radio Goo Goo. He’s had some solid runs for David Evans and can end Quinault’s winning sequence.

16:40 – Curragh – Givemethebeatboys

The feature race is the Group 1 Keeneland Stakes over 6f that sees a few of these renew rivalry. There’s only 1lb between Bucanero Fuerte and Unquestionable on ratings and there was only a short head between them when they clashed in the 6f Group 2 Railway Stakes in July. His Majesty was a further four and a half lengths back in third. Givemethebeatboys got quite worked up at Royal Ascot (when fourth) and he did well to win at the Curragh on his second start when winning the Group 3 Marble Hill Stakes by a head from Noche Magica. He could be a value pick at the prices against the two at the top of the market.
