13:40 – Diego Velazquez

A very interesting contest to start the day. Artful Approach can do best of those that have run, but it would be disappointing if one of the newcomers could not win. The most likely is the 2.4m guineas purchase DIEGO VELAZQUEZ. Stable companion Old Faithful, Surfers Paradise and Rocking Tree are the most interesting alternatives.

14:15 – A Lilac Rolla

Some very interesting newcomers here, no less than the very well-bred Weld-trained debutante Red Viburnum. Those with form are strong too, including previous winners Opera Singer and the possibly underestimated Profit Refused. One that created a lovely impression on debut at Cork was A LILAC ROLLA who looks a very nice prospect and is likely to improve.

14:50 – Cherry Blossom

A tight enough contest. Chandigah and the blinkered Chicago Fireball are a couple of the standard bearers on form, as is dual runner-up Mr Saturday. Little went right though for CHERRY BLOSSOM on debut in a Naas Listed last month and she has more scope for improvement.

15:25 – Shartash

Commanche Falls bids for a second win of the season at this track but over this stiffer track may not be able to confirm recent Newbury form with SHARTASH, who was finishing well on that occasion and will appreciate any easing in the ground. Go Athletico, Moss Tucker and Tango Flare all hold place prospects.

16:00 – Kings Time

Three-year-olds could be the ones to concentrate on here. Carracci seems sure to make a bold bid from the front which should ensure a good pace which recent Leopardstown winner KINGS TIME (nap) could relish. Something Nice lacks a recent run but is feared if the rain arrives, while bottom-weight Sea Chariot could go well at a price.

16:40 – Porta Fortuna

A really intriguing contest with nothing between Bucanero Fuerte and Unquestionable from their Railway Stakes clash here, although the former could be more favoured if the ground eases. Givemethebeatboys is not that far behind them on Coventry Stakes form. The selection is the progressive PORTA FORTUNA, quite a decisive winner of the Albany Stakes last time with more improvement possible.

17:10 – Heavenly Power

After an unlucky run in the Scurry Handicap last month HEAVENLY POWER can gain some level of compensation here, although there is the possibility he is drawn on the wrong side. The selection’s stablemate Collective Power is drawn towards the near side which proved favourable in the Scurry Handicap, while others to consider include Cnodian, The Snapper and Desert Haven.

17:40 – Jon Riggens

No fewer than seven of these contested the Cork premier handicap won by Gabriella’s Spirit last month, the pick possibly being JON RIGGENS who flew home in the closing stages after not getting the clearest of runs. This stiffer track should suit the selection as it should the fifth-placed Silmaniya. In a wide-open handicap others to consider include the top-weight Prisoner’s Dilemma and, at the opposite end of the handicap, Parting Glass.
