14:10 – Chester Le Streak
CHESTER LE STREAK can be expected to come on for his belated seasonal reappearance spin over this course and distance last month, and while he would have something to prove if the ground is on the slow side, his claims are otherwise pretty strong in a race of this nature. If able to reproduce form akin to her effort in a five-furlong handicap here in June Loveliest would be a threat, while Muatadel and Somewhere Secret are also worthy of consideration.
14:40 – Rocket Money
ROCKET MONEY left her previous efforts behind when opening her account at Beverley last month, well suited by a drop to five furlongs for the first time, racing up with the speed and just holding on from the progressive runner-up close home. She has to carry a penalty now, but this doesn’t look the deepest race of its type, and she may have even more to offer at this trip.
Newcomer Eyes Closed represents a shrewd stable and would merit plenty of respect if the market spoke in her favour, while Reflexion Fait can’t be dismissed on the back of an improved showing.
15:10 – Oceanic Wonder
OCEANIC WONDER didn’t offer much on her first three starts, but she was upped in trip, and showed much improved form on handicap debut at Beverley last month. She was ridden much more positively, still leading entering the final furlong but caught in the final 100 yards by the reopposing On Borrowed Time, who came from much further back.
Oceanic Wonder did best of those who raced up with the pace, though, and she’s capable of better again now she is up and running, so is taken to reverse the form now on better terms. Kaaress arrives on the back of an improved showing, so she’s also respected.
15:40 – Nibras Angel
NIBRAS ANGEL has a useful pedigree and she made a winning debut at Lingfield (turf) last month, knuckling down well once getting the hang of things and drawing right away. The third has come out and won since, to give the form some substance, and it is interesting that Nibras Angel holds an entry in the Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes later in the year.
This doesn’t look an overly strong race and she is expected to follow up before having her sights raised further. Mother Mary had her rivals stretched out in behind when winning a novice at Salisbury so rates the main threat, while Sovereign King is one to note from a yard that has a good record with three-year-old newcomers.
16:10 – Le Beau Garcon
It’s been a while since LE BEAU GARCON last got his head in front, but he failed by a whisker over this course and distance in a first-time visor (retained) recently and, turned out again quickly before his new mark kicks in (due to go up 3lb), he has sound claims of going close again. There are several likely dangers, headed by Blind Beggar and Irish-import Secret Road, while the hat-trick seeking May Blossom could also take a hand in the finish.

16:40 – Headabovetherest
HEADABOVETHEREST hadn’t shown much but he took a step in the right direction at Doncaster two starts back and built further on that effort when runner-up at Newcastle last time. He fared best of those who were held up on that occasion, staying on well close home in a race which was dominated by prominently ridden horses and he seems sure to be competitive now returned to turf racing from the same mark. Moulin Booj is being kept busy but arrives in top form and seems sure to be in the mix again.
17:10 – Lechro
his is tougher than the selling handicap that LECHRO landed at Beverley last week, but she did the job emphatically and will prove a tough nut to crack under a penalty here, provided she is in a similar mood. Marcello Si gets the nod ahead of Prince Achille, Angel On High and Ghostly for forecast purposes.
