16:49 – Habrdi

Hello Cotai and HABRDI are preferred of those with experience and although the latter couldn’t justify a short price on his debut here he still ran with promise when best of those who raced on the far side. The form standard set by this pair isn’t outstanding though and Qirat, Air Force Indi and Invincible Navy are interesting newcomers.

17:25 – She Is A Keeper

Hadrian’s Wall is a strong contender on his initial efforts and this longer trip should help US Navy Jack, but SHE IS A KEEPER makes most appeal. It’s a tad surprising to see her relegated to selling company after a decent nursery run here last time.

18:00 – Broadway Act

Plenty of guesswork involved in a maiden for newcomers but Charlie Appleby has won the past two renewals with colts who went on to register triple-digit RPRs and his BROADWAY ACT, a 250,000gns son of Too Darn Hot, makes obvious appeal. Monsieur Fudge and Break The Bank fetched even higher prices at the sales, while Blown Away and Macduff (second choice) are others who look the part on paper. As always, the market should be highly informative.

18:35 – Washeek

On paper at least this looks the weaker of the two divisions. Tribal Moon (second choice) is a standout contender given his stable’s relentless record with 2yos here and Jayyash commands respect with his purchase price of 420,000euros. However, WASHEEK hails from another stable that’s chock-full of 2yo talent and he’s the only one of these with a high-profile entry (Group 2 Champagne).

19:10 – Palamon

This looks trappy. Finest Leader is the one with the wind in his sails but will need his best yet to bring up the hat-trick, while Kingori is making his debut on turf. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Whitefeathersfall go well and First Officer lurks on a dangerous mark having been gelded, but a chance is taken on PALAMON. Slow starts are turning into a habit, but there have been other excuses for his two defeats in handicaps and he’s well worth a crack over this evening’s longer distance.

19:45 – Canadiansmokeshow (NAP)

It took a while to fulfil her flashes of good form at two but Brighton winner CANADIANSMOKESHOW (nap) could well progress further should the hood continue to work. Kimnkate can give her running once more but Ithra (second choice) and Astral Spirit have the potential to be better handicapped.

20:20 – Distinguished Lady

An open race as most of these have been running well. Lady Dreamer has to be high up the shortlist after not getting the breaks last time at Windsor (admittedly of her own doing) but a chance is taken on DISTINGUISHED LADY, who has claims on her best form if she’s revitalised by a change of stable. The old boy Equiano Springs is always a force to be reckoned with at the Newmarket tracks, as he reminded us 20 days ago.
