Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPs table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
ROSEYS HOLLOW, the Grade 3 hurdles winner, took eight attempts to get off the mark over fences when taking modest Tipperary mares contest last month. Better form last term when placed behind smart mares at Cork on softer ground. Interesting now switched to handicaps off 8lb lower mark than hurdles.
ON THE RIVER won his first three starts for this yard this spring (1m, good to soft/soft) and rediscovered his progressive ways when winning at Beverley (7.4f, heavy) a fortnight ago, beating Rhoscolyn who went one better at Glorious Goodwood. He’s up just 3lb for last time and holds solid claims.
AURORA VEGA has some pedigree as a daughter of Quevega and the sister to Facile Vega. Strolled home by 12l when long odds-on at Sligo (2m2f, good) and clearly highly promising. The glaring concern would be that Patrick Mullins has jumped ship to the stable’s other one.
NELLIE LEYLAX won on debut at Beverley (5f, soft) in May and landed Doncaster novice (7f, soft) in good style last month when back on slow ground. Has conditions in his favour on nursery debut and he’s respected.
