13:50 – Goodwood – Cooperation & Music Society
Cooperation is drawn in stall 12 and it’s been a big positive to be drawn by the stand rail. The ground should be on the soft side so that should still be the case. He won at Thirsk in May and you can ignore his last run at York in July. If he has a quick start, he can go well.
Music Society is another runner who had a bad race at York last time out but you can ignore that. He’s ran well at Goodwood before and he’s got a good draw in stall nine. He will be coming off the pace and if a gap opens up, he’ll kick on.
14:05 – Newmarket – Say Hello
Snafiya has wins recently and she hasn’t been punished too much by the handicapper. She won at Doncaster and Thirsk in July and she’s rated 83 here. However, Say Hello could be the best horse in this race and I feel like you’re getting a good price on her. Although she’s had a rise in the weights, she’s the one for me.
14:25 – Goodwood – Post Impressionist
Post Impressionist took time to fulfil his promise last season but he had some solid form. He reappeared in the Northumberland Plate last time but he got a horrible ride from Tom Marquand – so you can ignore that. He won’t make the same mistake again and I expect him to bounce back. The ground will be no issue too.
14:40 – Newmarket – Climate Friendly (each way)
Amusement could take all the beating if she gets a good position at the start of the race, however, I’m going to side with Climate Friendly at a price. She stays the trip well enough and she’s got cheekpieces on for the first time.

15:00 – Goodwood – River Of Stars
I’m taking on Free Wind, who was disappointing last time out in the Hardwicke. There are question marks about her handling the softer ground and I like River Of Stars, who is a filly going places. She won at York in May and she followed that up with a decent second in France. She will relish what could be a test of stamina.
15:35 – Goodwood – Spanish Star
I’ve landed on Spanish Star for Patrick Chamings with Liam Keniry on board. He’s in stall 17 but I’m not sure that’s a great draw! He loves this kind of track and he doesn’t mind the going either. His record on downhill tracks is really good and he can go well at a price.
I’ll also be keeping an eye on Summerghand, who always goes well in August.
