There’s no temptation to see past TEMPER TRAP in his bid for a third consecutive win in this race. Back to form with a vengeance last time, he’s still well treated on the pick of last year’s efforts after a 7lb rise and faces modest opposition. Star Of St James may chase him home with Hot Team also considered.

18:30 – LOOK BACK SMILING

With no penalty and Laura Coughlan claiming the full 5lb, LOOK BACK SMILING could well follow up his Leicester success. Shine On Brendan, who holds solid claims on current form, is second choice ahead of Innse Gall and Phoenix Fire.

19:00 – SLAINTE MHATH

Despite a career-high mark, SLAINTE MHATH may well prove capable of enhancing her good C&D record. Ramon Di Loria, who ties in with the selection on course form last month, is second choice. Impressor was unlucky on Tuesday and remains of interest, while Wen Moon is also in the mix

19:30 – TAJALLA

Newmarket raiders TAJALLA and Proverb are interesting back at 5f and stand out in this field, especially as their trainers both have an impressive strike-rate at Hamilton. The Varian runner gets the vote judged on 2023 form but the Boughey runner is still feared back in an ideal-looking scenario. Those two colts have a combined record of 5-6 over this distance, whereas their rivals are much more exposed. Prince Of Pillo, the other 3yo, could stage a revival and perform respectably off a handy mark on his peak 2yo figures. Elegant Erin looks the pick of the older runners, although Only Spoofing won yesterday evening.

20:00 – FORZA ORTA

Two Auld Pals is proving a model of consistency and has solid claims, but preference is for FORZA ORTA who takes a significant drop in class and is also proven under these conditions. Ravenscraig Castle is unlikely to be far away, while Haizoom may be suited by today’s drop back in distance.

20:30 – JAMINOZ

Jim Goldie may hold the key here with two strong contenders. Spanish Hustle is proving reliable but JAMINOZ (nap) gets the vote, with his proven ability to handle testing ground the deciding factor. Pick of the remainder could be Stockbridge Tap who may well have needed the run behind the selection over C&D three weeks ago.
