So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
14:40 Newmarket – Spring Fever (Tipman)
SPRING FEVER won two of her four handicaps, the latest when making all for a clear-cut success here last month (1m4f, good; unraced on softer). Could have done with settling better when upped to 1m5f at Newbury and failed to see it out. Could bounce back in her first Listed race.
15:35 Goodwood – Tactical (Farringdon)
TACTICAL was a Group 2 winner as a two year old and ran some good races in defeat last season before changing hands for 150,000gns last October. Not so good in his two runs this year but he has undergone wind surgery since his latest start and wears cheekpieces for the first time.
17:05 Doncaster – Asmund (Luke Tucker)
ASMUND is a handy sort who is 3lb higher than when winning this last year, but 1lb lower than when successful at Redcar (7f, good to soft) last October. Acts on soft ground and has shown enough on a couple of occasions this summer to suggest he will be competitive again.
17:20 Goodwood – Graignes (Jasomn Heavey)
GRAIGNES was a respectable fifth of 16 in this last year (good to firm) and has run just twice since, winning easily at Kempton (1m3f, AW) in June last time out. He’s gone back up 8lb but this 7yo remains very well treated on his old French form (including on soft ground) and could have more left in the tank.
