13:50 – Goodwood – Zaman Jemil
The Charltons’ three-year-old has made steady progression since winning over this 6f distance on the all-weather at Newcastle. He’s also run really well when trying the long sprint distance of 7f on a couple of tries this season. Zaman Jemil has improved again for the drop back to 6f and carries a 6lb penalty for a smooth success at Thirsk. He also seems to act under any conditions.
14:05 – Newmarket – Woodhay Wonder
Tom Ward’s runner looked pretty decent when winning her novice at Newbury in June. Woodhay Wonder took another step forward when running Persian Dreamer to just over four lengths at Newmarket in the Groupe 2 Duchess of Cambridge last time. She takes a significant drop back in class and a mark of 88 looks well within her compass.
14:25 – Goodwood – Post Impressionist
Post Impressionist has only had one run so far this season when he underperformed in the Northumberland Plate. His season can start in earnest now for Team Haggas.

14:40 – Newmarket – Amusement
Irish trainer Donnacha O’Brien appears to have played a blinder and found a perfect opportunity for Amusement to get an all-important Listed victory on the board. She has been racing in better company the last two times in Ireland over further than this 1m 4f trip. She’s the highest rated in the field and is likely to be short in the market but should get the job done.
15:00 – Goodwood – Time Lock
We will give Time Lock one last roll of the dice to start to fulfil some of the potential she showed last season. Connections were notably slow to come to hand in the early part of this campaign and are now in much better form. Free Wind disappointed last time and if she fails to fire again, the selection can take advantage.
15:35 – Goodwood – Came From The Dark
The joint bottom weight has dropped a whopping 21lbs in the ratings since a peak mark of 108. Came From The Dark looked to be coming to the boil nicely last time when not beaten too far over 5f in Ireland, suggesting that this slick 6 furlongs with a bit of ease in the ground is going to suit. There are plenty of old favourites in the line-up, but he is undoubtedly the best-handicapped runner in the line-up if returning to his best.
