13:50 – Goodwood – Perfuse

ITV Thursday at Glorious Goodwood gets under way here with a handicap for three-year-olds over a mile and a quarter. PERFUSE has to go close here for Sir Michael Stoute and Ryan Moore. The lightly raced son of Lope de Vega didn’t quite get home at Ascot over a mile and a half in the King George V Handicap but did well considering he was always in touch with a strong gallop. He has a good draw in stall seven and this distance should be ideal.

14:25 – Goodwood – Vandeek

Now we have the Group 2 Richmond Stakes for juveniles over five furlongs. VANDEEK might not have the experience to win this but he’s very promising for Simon & Ed Crisford and should give Andrea Atzeni a good ride. The son of Havana Grey was well backed on debut at Nottingham and did well to get the better of a Sir Michael Stoute inmate.

He was slowly away and ducked left at the start that day so with a normal start there should be much more to come. They should go hard here which will help.

15:00 – Goodwood – Espionage

Group 3 action with the Gordon Stakes for three-year-olds over a mile and a half. ESPIONAGE looks a very strong stayer and should take all the beating for Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore.

Second in a Group 1 as a juvenile, Espionage returned with a victory in a Listed race at Roscommon and should improve a bundle for that effort.

15.35 – Goodwood – Nashwa

The big race of the day and what a cracker in the Group 1 Nassau Stakes for fillies and mares over a mile and a quarter. One of the races of the week and I’m all over NASHWA for Hollie Doyle and John & Thady Gosden.

The former French Oaks heroine was right back to her best at Newmarket last time when landing the Falmouth Stakes and she can pick up the exciting French raider Blue Rose Cen in the closing stages.
