Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPS table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
BREEGE was second in C&D Group 3 (good to soft) last August. Irish 1,000 Guineas proved too tough on reappearance but she responded with second of 29 from the back in the Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot (1m, good to firm) and that puts her high on the list today.
BARNWELL BOY was very impressive when making all over 6f here (good) on his May debut and can put a line through his run behind Big Evs in the Windsor Castle (5f, good to firm) as he was drawn on the wrong side and slowly away. Still threatened to take a hand before finishing weakly. Strong suspicion that he’s a lot better than that.
ALDAARY was highly progressive in slow-ground handicaps in 2021 and stylish Listed winner on soft on 2022 reappearance. Missed the rest of last year and fair second in Group 2 Summer Mile at Ascot (1m, good to soft) 18 days ago on second start back.Capable of building on that performance and ground softer than good would be a major plus, but he needs a career best if he’s to win this.
Having dropped down the weights RHOSCOLYN returned to form when runner-up at Beverley (7.4f, heavy) last Monday, despite a slow start (blindfold removed late). Versatile ground-wise. Has a fine record at Goodwood and can play a leading role if backing up that latest performance.
