RED ZONE HERO stepped up on his debut form when filling the runner-up spot at Yarmouth last time, proving well suited by the drop back to five furlongs. He was beaten just three quarters of a length at the line having travelled strongly throughout and that form sets the standard in this line-up. With further progress likely after just two starts, Red Zone Hero rates a confident selection to get off the mark at the third attempt.
SEE MY BABY JIVE has been transformed since the fitting of blinkers and she produced a career best when completing a hat-trick of course-and-distance wins last week, once again finding plenty for pressure to land the spoils by three quarters of a length. Clearly thriving at present, she loves it here and remains one to be interested in as she tries to defy a penalty to make it four wins in a row.
NOVAK also arrives here on a four-timer having improved again to continue his winning run over six furlongs at this course last month. He impressed with the way he went through the race before gradually asserting in the final furlong, ultimately winning by half a length in comfortable fashion. He is only 3 lb higher in the weights today and seems sure to give another good account, with the return to seven furlongs holding no fears for this versatile sort.
CHRISZOFF showed improved form to complete the hat-trick on his handicap debut over this course and distance three weeks ago, finding the best turn of foot in a steadily-run race to win easily by two and a half lengths. He still looked a bit rough around the edges (has quite a high head carriage and wore a noseband last time) and is very much the type to go on improving as he gains in experience. By contrast, most of the others arrive here a bit out of sorts, so a 6 lb higher mark might not be enough to prevent Chriszoff from completing the four-timer.
CAMACHO STAR returned from 10 weeks off with a pillar-to-post victory at Catterick last time, quickening clear early in the straight and always doing enough from there to hold on by three quarters of a length. That was his best effort yet and the runner-up gave the form a boost when going one place better next time. Only 4 lb higher in the weights today, Camacho Star has a consistent profile overall and there is no reason why he shouldn’t go well again in his follow-up bid.
SIXCOR returned to form with a good third at Musselburgh last week, sticking to his task well to be beaten just a nose and a short head. He is 1 lb lower in the weights today and reverts to 0-55 company, the weakest race he’s contested for quite some time. It remains to be seen whether he can build on the promise of his Musselburgh run, but he could be worth the benefit of the doubt with so much in his favour.
