Last year’s winner Darkened will be popular on the back of a good run on the flat, but preference is for BIG ISLAND, another same course and distance (C&D) winner and who handles soft. Others to consider include Cullaghs Star, Wrecking Ball Paul, Bukhill and Starman.

18:10 – Mythology

Paddy Twomey’s newcomer Sea The Polaris has to be highly respected given the form of the stable’s juveniles. Air Commander has the entries and should improve plenty for his debut at Gowran last month. The selection is MYTHOLOGY who ran into a high quality Ballydoyle newcomer at the Curragh but was very much at home over this trip.

18:40 – Line Out

Typically competitive renewal of this day one feature and cases can be made for most of them. Teed Up enjoys this venue and his latest run at Tramore will set him up nicely for this. Last year’s fourth Lot Of Joy looks the best of the Mullins runners although Scaramanga also has a live chance. Chester winner Zinc White is a very interesting British runner. A sporting selection goes to 2021 Cesarewitch winner LINE OUT who ran well at the Curragh after a long time off and should be spot on for this.

19:15 – The Snapper (NAP)

Not many of these coming into this race in the best of form. Rumbled Again would be a big player but the draw is a big negative and he probably wants better ground. Preference is for THE SNAPPER (NAP) who has run well over shorter trips last twice but won over trip and ground at Cork in the spring. Rio Largo will go well if he handles the ground.

19:50 – Teorie

Jim Bolger’s horses have hit form and recent Leopardstown winner TEORIE appeals here on his handicap debut with the soft ground no problem. Dangers include Immutable, Voice Of Reason, Yourcrackmeup andFratas, while Expelliarmus is a likely improver on handicap debut.

20:20 – Shoot Champagne

Plenty with chances with preference for the filly SHOOT CHAMPAGNE on the back of a very promising Cork debut. My Great Mate has to be respected despite his Killarney defeat, while others with previous experience worth mentioning include the Shark Hanlon-trained pair Money To Burn and Topgun Simmy. The most interesting of the newcomers could be point winner Hypersonic Missile and Arctic Gale, whose yard took this with a newcomer last year.
