However, FLIGHT PLAN, the sole 3yo, could still have potential and may well be able to make much more of an impact today than he did in the 2,000 Guineas or the Jersey.

Preference is for JET OF MAGIC, who could well have more to offer in the retained tongue-tie and for his new stable. Last year’s winner Butler’s Brief (second choice) is one of the obvious dangers, along with Willaston and Aramax.

16:20 Uttoxeter – Ron Burgundy (Daily Mail)

Worcester winner RON BURGUNDY may well have more to offer in the retained visor and is taken to defy a 7lb rise in this similar event. He Is A Cracker would be respected if turning out quickly, while Joey Steel is third choice.

17:10 Pontefract – Elzaal (Racing Post)

There is no shortage of early pace on show and that could count against the progressive Astapor and Canaria Prince. Soul Seeker, who won on Saturday, should be dangerous if he lines up but it might be worth taking a chance on ELZAAL. Prolific on AW in the last 12 months, he lurks on a winning mark again and is much better than his latest run at Doncaster would indicate. He should be arriving on the scene late.
